These larger pieces are made from either tall oblong laminated blocks or tapering blocks

These are then set up in such a way that the top is squashed with weights in the kiln

Also some are set up leaning over one side so they move more one side

On these larger pieces they are ground using a counter weight system, as they can be heavy

Some of the larger ones start about 30 pounds in weight
